Behind The Wheel: Carding a Funfetti Batt
The drum carder has been feeling lonely.
When I first purchased the Brother Standard carder, I really thought I would use it a lot more. Instead it sat on the shelf for nearly six months. I go through cycles with what I spin. The carder is a fine tpi, but the past few months I've been spinning a lot of medium to coarse fiber. I also have done little to no blending.
As I increase production for sales, I've increased the blended fiber and batts I produce, increasing my opportunities to really put the carder to work. The video explains more about my chosen project, an Alpaca and Soffsilk blended batt that has the appearance of funfetti cake mix.
I love the effect of the Soffsilk.
